We built a nerf gun wall
I try to consider myself a “cool dad”. You know, the one with the “fun house” where kids want to be. Hopefully, our nerf gun wall will help reach that status!
Today I want to share one with you: building a Nerf Gun Wall. Trust me, it’s easier than you’d think and worth it! The boys have been huge into playing with Nerf Guns. Every time my sister is over, that’s what they will do. They circle the house and run around, trying to get each other.
So with several new nerf weapons for each of our boys this Christmas, it was time to create a place to store and display. So I searched for ideas and found some “Nerf Gun Wall Options”.
Nerf Gun Wall Project Cost = Under £40
Materials Needed For A Nerf Gun Wall:
- 2 Ikea black SKADIS pegboards
- The bungee straps for the board
- Optional – Vinyl stickers (I used a Cricut to make mine)
Step 1:
Brave Ikea and pick yourself up a couple of pegboards, don’t go on a Sunday with children if you can help it.
Step 2:
Measure and mark where you will need to hang your pegboards. (Try to hit studs, or use drywall screws to ensure a secure hold in your wall.)
Step 3:
Once you mount the two screws for each board, it’s plain sailing to mount them on the wall. You get a little wiggle room to get them level.
Step 4:
Apply the vinyl if you are using any. I used the Cricut to cut out a logo with a nerf font I found online.
Step 5:
Next, use the bungee cords to attach the guns to the wall. After arguing about whose nerf gun was theirs, we spent a while reorganising the guns.
The boys (and ME!) love that we have a great way to organise their nerf gun collection. I love great storage solutions like this!
I no longer trip over them or see them randomly left on the back of the sofa.
It’s so much easier for my boys to play since all the guns are easy to see and grab.
What do you think? Do you have anyone in your life, child OR adult, who would love to have their own Nerf Gun Wall?
